PROBLEM
The current can design has a number of issues. 
  • Design is too busy
  • Logo is outdated and not well designed
  • There are 2 yellow cans with identical color schemes
  • Colors chosen do not make sense for the flavor
  • Color choices make text difficult to read
  • Variety of colors is lacking
  • Not cohesive across multiple products or brand as a whole
GOAL
Create a new design that is modern and simplified, and can be translated across numerous product lines, while still keeping the branding and cyber-tech vibe.

NEW DESIGNs

I wanted to create a design that could be easily recreated and modified across all different product lines. Shown here is the main energy drink, kava seltzer, hydration performance drink and kratom free energy drink.

The brand itself uses a lot of cyber-tech style graphics, so I wanted to lean into that with their main energy drink.  Then use that base concept to create the other product lines. 

Now, their products will look cohesive together, and be easily identifiable whether sitting next to each other, or on a shelf at the store alongside other branded products.

ENERGY DRINK

Dialed Moods first and most popular product is their kratom energy drink. As stated before, the can design was messy and there was simply too much going on. They wanted to keep their cyber tech theme, so I recreated it in a more modern way that lets the design and branding stand out more. 

This drink would have a matte finish on the majority of the can, and a metallic finish on the color accents where the gold is located creating a nice high contrast and visual appeal. 

ELECTROLYTES

To easily identify different product lines, I chose to make the hydration products white with vibrant neon colors. White is often seen as clean and pure, while neon colors are seen as a symbol of energy.

KAVA SELTZER

Dialed Moods kava seltzer needed a serious rebrand. The can was too similar to the energy drink can, but had an unsightly smiley face that looked warped and awkward. None of the design resembled kava or the effects of the drink. It was dark and lacked creativity. The overall design was also too busy.

My approach to this was to use a theme that still played off the patterns of the energy drinks, but was more relative to the origins of Kava - the Pacific Islands. I used vibrant colors to symbolize the lift in your mood from consuming this product. This can would be matte, but have an embossed pattern for a fun and interesting tactile feeling.
